This year, The BIZ KIDS will meet afterschool on Wednesdays at the Coquille Valley Middle / Intermediate School in Classroom 122.  )

The BIZ KIDS Iis a "no cost" program that works with kids from the 5th grade through the 8th grade to learn about the many aspects of  business,nonprofit organizatins, corporations, and personal financial management.

Our first year, took BIZ KIDS members through the process of developing a personal budget, Sterling Bank provided us with complete practice check books that were issued to each member.  The members received  made up paychecks, bills for rent, utiltilities, insurance and food for the month,  The member learns how to wirte checks, make the proper entries and keep a balanced check book. 

Next school year, this will translate to learning to develop a business or department budget and business related accounting.  Members of the community will help teach our members about banking, savings, accounting and other related topics.

The BIZ KIDS structure is set up as a corporation with a member participation on a  board of directors.  The  minutes of each board meeting is sent to Coquille Together to update them of our activities.
